Deadzone terrain

started tinkering with the deadzone scenery, its pretty good!

its made up of mostly 3" x 3" 'panels' with some 1/2 size as well, the panels connect with flat or corner clips. its meant to be modular but I think i'll glue mine instead, I can't see that keeping the modularity will help the paint job (when its done...)

deadzone assembly

Started putting together some of the DZ minis. I'm no sculptor and have no experience of making moulds but some of the cuts/joins on the minis just seem bizarre to me when compared to other minis I have assembled previously. Also there seems to be quite a lot of flash on some of them...

Three old metal marines and one plastic modern one.

I like the character of the old ones, but the modern ones are great to assemble with lots of poseability, although I would prefer it if the weapons did not have hands moulded onto them

Mongo

painted up a large miniature, its called Mongo but can't remember who makes it.

as an experiment I used just washes over a light grey basecoat, am rather happy with how it came out in the end.
