deadzone assembly

Started putting together some of the DZ minis. I'm no sculptor and have no experience of making moulds but some of the cuts/joins on the minis just seem bizarre to me when compared to other minis I have assembled previously. Also there seems to be quite a lot of flash on some of them...

  1. Yeah they are pretty cheaply made huh? Really wanted to get right into a game with unpainted mini's, but the assembly is hell! Its the first kind of assembly of any mini for me as I had only worked with car models ;p
That plaque guy on the barrier!! AHHH I just used green stuff and stuck him on the thing! ;p There is also a other plaque dude that has the base of just a little foot alone! WTF is that? ;p
Also all the enforces torso's don't sit in the hips properly. I will go over them all with liquid green stuff to make sure they have strength.

  2. hiya, thanks for the comments.

i don't think its that they are 'cheaply' made, even though mantic does produce good value minis, i think the real issue is the restic material which i find to be much worse than hard plastic (or even lead) to clean up and remove the flash from
I'm planning on pinning the plague guy to the barrier at some point, but given the pose it was designed in it would have been better to have the arm cast attached to the barrier.
yeah the one with just the foot on the base is just crazy, especially when there was another in the batch i got that was moulded and assembled differently

with the enforcers i find there is a little tab in the hollow hip socket that needs to be removed before the torso will join properly. again the restic material means having to use superglue rather than plastic cement, which would allow more adjustment time especially given the fiddlyness of their arms & rifles
