AvP has delivered, is it a christmas miracle?!?!??!

Got home today and found a delivery note from UPS, wasn't expecting a delivery. Went and picked it up and it was quite a large box with a smaller one attached, very perplexed by it...

Got back home and cut it open, well I am very surprised! The Prodos AvP kickstarter has finally delivered!!!!!!!!!!

I am so surprised I'll say it again, Prodos have delivered the AvP kickstarter, which I originally backed 24 November 2013 with an estimated delivery of May 2014. Having delivered 19 December 2015 its only 19 months overdue.
I wouldn't have minded the overrun if Prodos had communicated openly with the backers about the delays, and hadn't sold the games & minis at retail before delivering to all backers.

The package has an apology letter and coupon for 25% off when/if I order from the Prodos website. I doubt I will order anything else from them, as given the delays and the way they have treated backers I am not sure I want to give them any more of my money.

Stencilled Nightscythe

Had another go at the top plate on my brothers Necron nightscythe (luckily its not glued on), used a brush 4 hire hex stencil, a couple of shades of green sprayed on first, then black through the stencil. Given the curved shape 3 hands would have been useful. Overall am happy with the effect though.

Mantic landing pad

Made the time to assemble the landing pad from Mantic games. Its a good kit with some nice features, mainly being how easy it was to put together.

The kit comes with only a picture to guide assembly, but the idea of the Mantic scenery is that it can go together in many different ways so that's no real issue. On the other hand I don't think there are enough connectors to make the example as shown on the packaging.

Assembled its quite large, approx. 12" x 12", and the platform is 3" above the ground, the space marine & stormraven show how it scales. The support legs are a snug fit so I haven't glued them to make it easier for storage. Also I assembled it in halves so it can be used as a generic platform if wanted.

As usual there are a good few bits left over like a comms dish and laser cannon as well as some barricades, am sure I can find a use for them.

Tau Ghostkeel assembled

Got the new Ghostkeel assembled. The instructions were ok but could have been clearer, also I think some of the parts were misnumbered but muddled through it. Magnetised all the weapon options. Left off the thigh & shoulder armour to paint them separately.

The cockpit flips down and am undecided as to gluing it shut or magnetising it as the lower half is very loose, and the upper half doesn't lift very far. Might greenstuff a magnet to hold the lower half shut

Betrayal at Calth Contemptor dreadnought

Assembled the first of the minis from the Betrayal at Calth box set, the dreadnought. Great mini but a bit static. Managed to chop the torso joint and rotate it a bit to avoid the original flat look. Magnetised the arms as well of course.

Hormagaunts progress

Claws painted, carapace plates drybrushed, teeth and eyes still to be done, and a dark wash need on the red skin...

Last night on earth miniatures & more hormagaunt progress

Hormagaunts, hormagaunts everywhere I look.

More progress on the horde (90+), base colours done on the flesh and carapace plates. Still got the claws to basecoat. Then a wash or two and they should be tabletop ready!

Last night on earth, heroes and zombies. The minis are soft plastic so nice and durable when packed in game box, but makes it hard to get the mould lines off. Still need to finish the hair on the heroes but am happy with how they have turned out so far

Necron monolith

Got my brother a necron monolith for his birthday, of course it needed painting and assembling.

Its a massive model, and will look quite imposing on the tabletop. Used the airbrush for the main colour, then a fine brush to get the green between the panel lines.

Talon & Raven - space marine fliers

Got most of the painting finished on the modified stormtalon, its tabletop ready but it needs a few transfers to give it a bit more detail.

Got the base colour on the Stormraven, started the exterior painting, damn its big!
