A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away

On Nar Shadaa, in pursuit of Barin for Black Sun, the team looks up an old contact – Rika the Hutt. Rika is unavailable but his no.2 Vara takes the call and hooks them up with a slicer droid R2-FU. The team learns that Arvo the Hutt is a rival of the current owner of the Kessel club, and that Rika would be appreciative if something were to happen to the Kessel club.

The team sneaks round the side of the club, and R2-FU slices into some of the club camera feeds. They don’t spot Barin but pick up in a cloaked figure in a dark corner who has people coming and going. After a quick mind trick the team confirm that the cloaked figure is Barin.

Darjan and Sai Rye head in whilst Kel Orta & Cyrus stay outside as backup. In the club Darjan and Sai Rye get a table near Barin. Darjan uses the force to get a read on Barin, who immediately realises what he is doing and locks eyes with him, before asking the 2 of them to join him at his table. As they approach they see Barins face change back to human. After some chat, Cyrus and Kel Orta join them at the table.

Barin explains that the crystal he stole from Black Sun is a holocron, and he suggests that he can give the team a lot of money if they let him go, as well as potentially training them with the information he has gained from the holocron, and he gets Darjans commlink frequency.  As they are talking, only Kel Orta notices a group of 4 bounty hunters approaching with blasters drawn.

The hunters disregard Barin, ordering the team to leave their weapons on the table and come quietly. Looking up, Darjan uses the force to bring down a light fitting on 2 of the hunters, as he does so Cyrus flares with anger, and looses a vicious force slam killing all 4 of the hunters. In the chaos the team flees, Cyrus slowly feeling the anger subside within him. Looking back as they leave, there is no sign of Barin.

The team head to a quiet cantina to consider their options. The holocron is a tempting prize, immensely useful to them as they no longer have jedi masters to learn from. It could also be useful for any other force users. But letting Barin go would have Black Sun on their tail. In the end they decide to try and apprehend Barin, sticking with Black Sun. Checking in with Vara, they get 10,000Cr for causing a mess at Arvo’s club.

Hatching a cunning plan, they move the Ravager to another landing platform and install a cryo chamber and obtain some wookie tranquiliser, so they can keep Barin unconscious once they capture him. As the team is installing the chamber, Kel Orta heads into the slum are to try and locate Barin. After spending most of the day searching, Kel Orta finds Barin, and they sit down to talk. Barin explains he is glad Kel Orta found him, as he has been looking for an apprentice, to help him cleanse the galaxy with purifying flames.  Kel Orta is unsure what to say. Barin slides the holocron over to him ‘a gesture of good faith, you will find me if you wish to take up my offer’ and them leaves.

Kel Orta returns to the Ravager, updating the team on what he has learnt, and then retires to meditate on the holocron. It glows as he focuses on it, then slowly the image of a dark cloaked figure projects from the holocron.....
